ALTitude is a performance based rock/pop ensemble for kids 12-17 years of age. Throughout the semester participants will learn multiple cover songs, write an original, perform in the community and learn the fundamentals of being in a band. The ensemble will be led by Tony Eltora and Mat Sigmon and will take place on Tuesdays from 6:30-7:30pm at the Hickory Music Factory. For more information, please contact Tony Eltora.

Enjoy learning and performing on traditional steel drums w director Rick Cline. Cline has over 25 years of teaching experience and has taught the art of Steel drumming to hundreds.

The Factory String Band under the direction of Liam Bailey is a semester-long ensemble that explores North American Contra and Square-dance music! This ensemble will incorporate and develop a manageable repertoire of American fiddle tunes in preparation for a proper contra dance to be held at Hart Square.
This ensemble is suitable for most beginners and ALL intermediate players. Appropriate instrumentation will include but will not be limited to, fiddle, flute, whistle, guitar, banjo, mandolin and acoustic bass.

Broadway Bound, directed by Ava Miller, will provide students with vocal training for musical theatre. This will include two solo songs, audition prep, character studies, vocal health/technique, and breath/movements exercises. At the end of the semester, there will be a showcase with a live accompanist for students to perform their newly learned repertoire!

The Uke Skywalkers ukulele ensemble offers adults the opportunity to play ukulele in a group setting. No prior experience required to participate in the class and HMF has a limited number of ukuleles available for class use. The session will cover the basic aspects of ukulele performance including: care and tuning, reading tablature, playing simple melodies, chords and rhythm, and accompanying others in a group setting. At the end of the semester the ensemble will offer a public performance of songs learned during the class.

The Hickory Music Factory Jazz Combo under the direction of Rick Hefner, is a semester-long ensemble. The ensemble focuses on the study of the jazz art form, how to improvise, music theory, and playing in a group. The ensemble is for intermediate to advanced students. Students will be expected to be able to sight read music and have a basic understanding of chord theory.
