Daniel Brodie is a North Carolina-based composer, educator, and percussionist. Daniel is born and raised in Hickory, NC and is currently pursuing his M.M. in Music Composition for Film and Visual Media at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. He has graduated with honors from Western Carolina University with a B.S.Ed in Music Education, B.M. in Music, and a certificate in Music Technology.
Daniel has many years of experience as a music educator, teaching music students at every level from elementary school through college. He is an NC certified teacher and has taught music in schools across western North Carolina and Tennessee. His background as a percussionist consists of performing solo works, orchestral works, marching band shows, and several musicals at community theaters and universities. He has proficient experience on drum set, mallet instruments, drumline instruments, steel pan, and much more.
Daniel has composed original music across many different genres for numerous short films, video games, animations, concert works, marching band shows, theater, podcasts, and other forms of media. Daniel is passionate about learning all aspects of music to better serve storytelling and world-building in his compositions. He aims to provide creative and original ways of achieving this, and he strives to inspire others through his compositions just like film music has inspired him throughout his life.
